01 Description

Drawing inspiration from éS’s late-’90s era of innovation, the Swift 1.5 brings a progressive approach to modern skate shoe design while staying rooted in the brand’s performance heritage. It’s built for skaters who value durability, support, and precision without sacrificing style.

Designed to handle demanding skating, the Swift 1.5 balances structure and responsiveness, offering a stable platform for impact-heavy skating while remaining agile and controlled. Its construction supports confident movement across gaps, rails, and technical terrain.

The upper combines premium suede and breathable mesh, creating a durable yet lightweight feel that adapts quickly to the foot. Underfoot cushioning helps absorb impact and reduce fatigue during long sessions, allowing the shoe to perform consistently from first push to last trick.

Modern in execution, grounded in heritage. The éS Swift 1.5 reflects a period when innovation and skate performance moved forward together — refined for today’s skating.

The soles started to come off

The soles started to come off after a little over a month. I had big expectations for these shoes. My previous pair were some accel slim. But unfortunately these do not have the same quality. Bought these in February and I haven’t used them everyday, nor put them through tough conditions.

Comfy and spacious for my wide feet

Comfy and spacious for my wide feet. Only issue I’ve had is the shoe laces snapped when I was skating.

Hi Taylor,

Thank you for your awesome review! We’re so glad to hear that the shoes fit you well. Having comfortable shoes for skating is super important—that’s exactly what we aim for.

It’s a bummer to hear that your lace snapped, but that’s such a classic while skateboarding. Hopefully, you have a spare to replace it! Wishing you lots of kickflips and good times in those shoes.

Can’t wait to see you back on the review page soon!

Nice shoe. But…

Lacing up with the protected eyelets two pulled right out. Trimmed and glued them back in place. Another came loose from walking.
First time riding the cup sole adhesive began to fail. Other than that very comfy and precise.

Big foot

I was asked to give a picture so I skated them. They just aren’t my shoe . They might be your shoe , if you have skinny feet. After one skate session I noticed I just have big wide feet, the sides of my feet push the waist of the shoe outward so much it hangs over the brown sole at the bottom. It visibly looks just off, some people said the make my feet look funny. I didn’t care, I just cared if the skated decent after one session I could say my feet hurt along the sides but honestly they just might not be my shoe. I will skate them regardless of the pain , because I don’t think they will last a 2 weeks if I skate everyday. Well here’s a picture of an hour and how they look on the side.
I’m not here to talk bad about the es shoes. I bought a different set of es shoes one nine sum thing not the 1st time trying different es shoes. Some shoes are just made for different people and that’s okay.
I’d still give it 5 stars I like the hidden shoe lace and I had fun skating in them. I’m just big foot :/. I’ll try again with a different es shoes model I ordered yesterday. Talk to ya Later come skate outside. Peace

In response to the guy that gave a 1 star review

If your skateboarding a lot and you blow out shoes like me I couldn’t care less about the color of the shoe. I just care that it functions the way I expect them too and if they make me skate better that’s cool. I think they are fresh slick light weight shoe that helps me perform the way I want to because they make me feel good on my feet. I like the orange it’s a loud color way . The color makes other people look at my feet and want to buy es products. If you got style you can match the color way with your skateboard. If I wear simple dark blue jeans and a black es shirt the orange shoes perfect for me.. they match my blue flip skateboard. Es is style and functional . They got colorways for every vibe and everybody. Sometimes es shoes bless us with good shoe deals for people like me on a budget who still wants quality shoes but struggle to afford the more expensive pairs .
If your curious I would suggest to go ahead and buy them buy a pair don’t worry about the color way and try a new shoe. You should focus on having fun skateboarding not how others think you look in your fit while skateboarding..
I looke down at my skateboard and feel good because the shoes are comfortable and they make skateboarding fun. Unlike other companies that make me cringe. Try The NEW SWIFT 1.5.
Peace

The NEW SWIFT 1.5

I was asked to send a picture of The NEW SWIFT 1.5 So I will show you a before because they are still fresh and it’s snowing outside. I will be in Barcelona , I will skate them and when they blow out I will give another review. You can trust me the es shoes are quality . Even when they blow out you. Can still skate them until they fall apart. I really appreciate each shoe. So I skate them until there’s a hole on the bottom underneath your shoe. That’s as much as it will go. Some people complain when the shoe gets loose and soggy it’s time for a new pair but honestly it’s because you should size it down by a half so they fit snug and when they break in they won’t feel soggy or you don’t have to wear to socks to get the shoe to function.. I like when they feel loose and the holes on the side don’t bother me when they blow out I put shoe goo on them so my socks won’t rip and I skate them till the sole of the shoe underneath gets thin or hole. I can’t fix that so I get one more. I’m a One shoe guy . I appreciate and trust es shoes to perform the way I expect it too. Here’s a picture. I ordered another pair of The NEW SWIFT 1.5 because I loved the face that I have better shoe lace protection. I eventually want to try all the different pairs of es shoes and tell everyone I know about it even if they don’t skate because they make comfy shoes that follows function. Peace

Great shoes, fit true to size

Great shoes, fit true to size. I’m still a beginner skater, so I’m not sure how these compare to other skate shoes, but they are infinitely better than the converse Malden street I was skating. The only issues are that that the laces are very long, so they are uncomfortable to tuck into your shoes. Also the red insole has been rubbing off and staining all my sock heels pink. But otherwise great board feel, ankle stabilization, etc.

Hi there! We're thrilled to hear you love the Swift 1.5 and appreciate your detailed feedback. We'll look into the laces and insole issue to improve your experience. Thanks for skating with us!

Swiftly found out not a skate shoe

These shoes look the part and fit great, however the insole is completely trash, this shoe is 100% unskatable unless you spend more on an aftermarket insole than you do on the shoe

Great shoes
Haven’t skated in them though, but they look and feel like they will hold up with the little skating I do these days.
Super comfy
I have high arches and most shoes this style hurt my feet, these do not hurt even after wearing them all day.

Hi Soupboat! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our Swift 1.5 shoes. We're so happy to hear that they feel great and are super comfy for you, even with high arches. We hope they serve you well for your skating adventures, whenever you get the chance to try them out. Thanks for choosing our brand! :)

Solid Shoe

Besides the sole coming off of the bottom from one skate session, the overall materials of the shoe are solid. Nothing but some shoe goo to fix the problem.

FAQ

01 Do éS shoes fit true to size?

As they are designed with a medium-width profile, most éS shoes fit true to size with a classic skate fit-secure in the heel with room for natural movement in the forefoot. Models like the Accel and Swift are built on legacy éS lasts, while newer silhouettes may feel more streamlined. If you prefer a tighter performance fit, you can size down ½ size.

02 Are éS shoes good for impact skating?

Yes. Many models were built using STI Energy Foam midsoles, high-rebound insoles, and supportive cupsole construction and we are always developing technologies for the future. These designs originated from the golden era of technical skating and have been refined to handle modern impact demands.

03 Why does éS focus on engineering?

éS was founded to advance skate footwear. In the 90s and 2000s, the brand set the benchmark for technical design - clean silhouettes, smart overlays, better impact protection, and shoes built to progress skateboarding. Today, that same engineering mindset underpins every new model.

04 What materials do éS shoes typically use?

Full-grain leather, suede, synthetic reinforcements, breathable mesh, and high-grip rubber. Materials are selected for the blend of durability, performance, and feel needed for technical skateboarding.

05 How do I choose between éS shoe models?

All éS shoes use cupsole construction, but each model offers a different mix of support, boardfeel and durability. Classic styles like the Accel or Swift are stable and durable. Modern models focus on lighter weight and impact protection, while heritage remasters keep original design DNA. Choose based on whether you want more support or a more responsive feel.

06 What technologies do éS shoes use?

éS shoes use skate-specific construction features for durability, comfort and performance. _x000B_These include cupsole construction, reinforced ollie zones, triple-stitched toe caps, rubberized overlays on high-wear areas, hidden lace-loops, molded EVA or E-Bound foam insoles for impact protection, breathable mesh panels and high-grip rubber outsoles.

07 How durable are éS shoes?

Durability is engineered into the build: reinforced ollie zones, rubber overlays, triple stitching, and high-abrasion materials. Cupsole models provide long-lasting outsole integrity, while selected vulc models use wrapped foxing for wear protection.

08 What makes the Accel an iconic skate shoe?

The Accel is one of the most influential shoes in skateboarding history - known for its clean design, durable cupsole, and balanced boardfeel. It became the standard for technical skating in the mid-to-late 90s and continues to influence modern éS design today.

09 Are éS shoes made for skateboarding?

Yes. Every éS shoe is designed for technical skateboarding, from tread patterns to foam systems to wear zones. éS was founded to push skate footwear design forward, and that engineering-first mindset guides every model we release.

10 Cupsole vs vulcanized - what’s the difference?

Cupsoles offer more support, impact protection and long-lasting stability - central to éS heritage and seen on icons like the Accel and TJ Rogers. Vulc styles deliver immediate boardfeel and flexibility. Both are engineered specifically for technical skateboarding; it comes down to your skating style and preference.

11 Which pros skate or wear éS shoes?

éS has been worn by many of skateboarding’s most influential pros, including Eric Koston, Tom Penny, Chad Muska, Bob Burnquist, Rick McCrank and Ronnie Creager. Later generations included Paul Rodriguez, PJ Ladd, Rodrigo TX and Wade Desarmo. In 2025, éS introduced the TJ Rogers pro model, continuing the brand’s long tradition of supporting elite skateboarders.
